Hello Fabulous Carnavaleros!

Thank you for a very productive rehearsal last Sunday!  This week has been busy with production planning for our Carnaval Contingent, so thank you for your patience, your feedback and your questions.  Below are your latest Tutorial Videos and details about Costume distribution.

Videos for Part 2 of our Salsa Dance and our Cha cha cha are below - we hope you find these helpful.

FRINGE COSTUMES will be distributed next week

Costumes have arrived and we have done our inventory (thank you Monika and Tamar for your help!!)   Thank you to everyone who has submitted your payments ~ deadline for costume payments is Sunday 4/12/26.

Costumes will be ready for pick up the week of April 13, 2026 at ODC Dance Center!  We have the following times for you to pick up your costumes and sign off that you've received them.  We coordinated these times based on my schedule, Monika's schedule and your section practices. If you are unable to stop by during these times, please ask your fellow dance friends to pick up your costume and sign off for you:

  • Monday 4/13 - 6pm-7pm - Fancy Fuschias (Section Leaders Monika and Caro)

  • Tuesday 4/14 - 5pm-6pm - Tangerine (Section Leaders Maddie and Mitzi)

  • Wednesday 4/15 - 8pm-9pm (After LDG) - Mission Fuschias (Section Leaders Aimee and Subini)

  • Friday 4/17 - 6pm-7pm - ChartreuseLime (Section Leaders Bethica, Rachel) and Turquoise  ( Section Leaders Nicole, Meena)

  • Saturday 4/18 - 3pm-4pm - Turquoise and all remaining costumes.

When you receive your costumes, please open your packages carefully at home and save the packaging in case you need to make an exchange.  Before you try it on, please hang your costume to allow the fringe to settle and handle it carefully so it doesn't get damaged.

If you need to make a size exchange, please email me as soon as possible.  Please repackage the costume carefully the same way you received it and indicate your name and size exchange needs and return to me.  There will be an extra charge for return shipping, and it will be about 1-2 weeks to process.  Thank you!

Men's Costumes - will be delivered separately - I will let you know as soon as they have arrived and bring them to Rehearsal.

Headpiece Frame - will be delivered the week of April 19 with written instructions on how to decorate/embellish them and so that each section can have small gatherings to decorate :-)  More details about this will be sent next week when Tina returns.

What kind of shoes should we wear with our Costumes?

Please protect your feet, since you will be standing/dancing all day during the Carnaval parade.  Please wear supportive, closed toed shoes in the same color of your costume.  The Turquoise and Fuchsia costumes have silver gems, so you can wear Silver shoes.

Here are some sample shoes, you do not have to shop on Amazon, this is just the easiest way for us to share some examples :-) :

Glitter Sparkly Fashion Sneakers (silver, lemon yellow, tangerine, turquoise)

Thank you to our Section Leaders for these suggestions!

If you need leg support while wearing the short fringe outfit, these stockings help reduce swelling and are supportive for those with injuries.

If you want to cover your arms, you can wear a dance shrug in the same color of your costume, here are examples of what we mean:

White shrugs can be dyed to match your costume :-)

Need minor Alterations on your costume?

Erika Ipanaque can help you (Erika is a long time dancer and seamstress with LDG, and a small business owner).  She will be available in April to assist you - click the link to find out about her services.  Thank you!!!

Thank you so much everyone and see you this weekend!  And as always, if you have any questions, please feel free to email me.

with love and gratitude,

Elizabeth
