Carnival Updates as of 4/3/26

Hello fabulous LDG Carnavaleros and Happy Good Friday!,
I hope you are doing well and are enjoying the beautiful weather! Just wanted to give you a quick update as we enter our last 4 Indoor Rehearsals before we start rehearsing outdoors!
The costume order has been placed and will be delivered soon. I will bring sample Men's Costumes again on Sunday, and start those orders next week. Dudley and I have recorded the last phrase of our Salsa Choreography and the follow-along video for our Chachacha combination, which we have been doing in rehearsal and LDG class :-). We have selected our Section Leaders and will introduce them on Sunday.
We have paid for our Sound System and Tech via JK Sound and we have secured our talented videographer, Alma Herrera- Pazmiño to record a mini-documentary of our LDG Carnaval SF Weekend - starting with our last outdoor rehearsal, the Parade Day and our after-party. More information to follow, but in the meantime, please check out Alma Herrera-Pazmiño's portfolio here:

Sound Truck and Driver needed: Dudley, our talented co-director and AV tech wizard, is in charge of the Sound System and Sound Truck logistics for the day of the Parade. If you are able to help us secure a truck with a long flatbed and a driver for the day of the Parade - please connect with Dudley. Thank you!
Last but not least, a couple of logistical items:
1. Please check the LDG Members Page regularly.
Password: LDG2026
Please review our General Information Sheet for a timeline what to expect this Carnaval Season.
2. Rehearsals at Abada SF begin at 1:35pm and Doors will close at 1:45PM. Our front desk check in crew is at their post starting at 1:00pm so please try to arrive by 1:35pm so you don't miss our Meet & Greet Huddles and prepare for warm up. Doors will be locked at 1:45pm. Thank you check-in crew for your help!!!
3. Please mark your initials on the attendance sheet when you arrive.
4. Please use the cubbies for your belongings and do not place any items on the shelves where the Artwork is located. Please do not touch the drums as they are the property of Abada SF. Thank you!
5. Practice makes progress :-) Please practice a little every week and you will do great! Practice one short phrase at a time until you've memorized them, then add on the next phrase and repeat.
6. Section Leaders are here to help - we will introduce your Section Leaders this Sunday 4/5/26.
7. Please wear a Top in the Color of your Section to all rehearsals, so you can meet the other dancers in your section more easily.
8. COSTUMES will be distributed the week of April 13, 2026! We will send out details on where and when to pick up your costumes, after we've received and inventoried our order. Thank you to those of you who have already submitted your payments.
Thank you so much everyone for your time, energy and your attention. Viva Carnaval!!!
with love and gratitude,
Elizabeth and Dudley
