Hello Latin Dance Groovers!
I hope that you had a restful, healing, safe, warm and dry Holiday Season surrounded by your loved ones.
If you are feeling devastated by the way this new year began, I truly resonate with your frustration and the need to transform the feelings of anger, anxiety and hopelessness into meaningful action. We are going to need our friends and family close as we navigate another year of uncertainties and challenges.
For some inspiration, here is an uplifting sermon by Dr. Bernice King, that I hope will help empower us as we weather the tough road ahead: Inspiring Remarks from Dr. Bernice King
I look forward to co-creating more opportunities for community engagement as we collectively and individually fulfill our unique purpose in life and contribute to making the world a better place.

Thank you all so much for participating in an incredible year of performances in 2025. From the Carnaval SF Parade, to our Seniors performing at the OnLok Gala, several of our dancers lighting up the Fiesta de las Americas; dancing at the Day of the Dead Event at Alvarado School, and finally closing out the year with a fabulous performance at the Global Dance Passport Showcase - you all shined bright and genuinely shared your love of dance with so many. Thank you!!!
If you didn't get a chance to check out our performance at the Global Passport Showcase ~ here is a beautiful video, enjoy!

and last but not least...
This year, I am celebrating my 25th Anniversary of teaching ongoing classes! I'm so grateful for the opportunity to dance with you and celebrate milestones together. Thank you!
With that in mind, Dudley, Monika and I have started envisioning some colorful and uplifting ideas for this Carnaval Season, with the goal of overriding the darkness and divisiveness that is so pervasive in our political system and bringing a unifying bright light of hope to our community! During these challenging times, we will strive to create safe spaces for us to co-create, regenerate, restore, recover and protect one another!
If you're interested in dancing with LDG for the 2026 SF Carnaval Parade, please fill out this LDG CARNAVAL SURVEY 2026 so we can compile our 2026 Carnaval Email List. Registration begins in February and our Rehearsals Kick Off on Sunday March 1st, 2026!!!
with love and gratitude,
Elizabeth
